I glued the first sheet of foam onto the first half of the cutout and then shaped it with a razor knife.

Coating the foam with a layer of Apoxie Sculpt.

And then sanding it here and there to get a smooth finish and a used look at the same time.

Now drawing the spirals onto the finished axe head.

This is a screwdriver which I usually use as tool.

Used a PVC pipe here and covered it with Apoxie.

When the spirals are cured, trimming the edges can be useful sometimes.
Giving them a hammered look.
I think it looks better than engraving the elements, because I can’t really control the dremel to get a smooth effect.
So raised parts work better for me.

That hammered look is visible now after I painted the axe head black.

I skipped most of the mold making part, because it’s not interesting and I’ve shown that step by step with my other bilds.
